The short version
Your scores, goals, profile details and runner names stay on your device. Limited anonymous product analytics and privacy-preserving install attribution start on and can each be turned off at any time in Settings.
Product analytics and attribution
Level Best sends limited product-usage events to PostHog, our analytics processor. We use them only to understand and improve Level Best and provide an easy opt-out in Settings. The events tell us things such as whether onboarding was completed, a run was started or finished, a result was saved, a paywall was viewed, and whether a purchase or restore flow succeeded. They can also include the app version and build, operating-system version, general device type, a random app-install identifier and broad product state such as free or Pro access.
AppsFlyer measures an install or app launch so we can understand which marketing activity led people to Level Best. AppsFlyer receives no Level Best scores, profile information, purchase events or other in-app product events. We use AppsFlyer’s strict SDK, disable collection of Apple’s advertising identifier and identifier for vendors, do not personalise advertising, and do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Analytics events never include your score, time, distance, goals, test dates, age, sex, runner names, contacts, advertising identifiers or payment details. We do not create an analytics profile for you, identify you, use session replay, record screen contents or track you across other apps or websites. PostHog stores this data in its EU service, and Level Best instructs PostHog not to use or retain your IP address for location enrichment.
You can turn product analytics and install attribution off separately at any time under Settings → Privacy. Turning either one off does not limit the app and stops that future measurement from this installation.
What stays on your device
Your test scores, training history, goals, settings and any squad or runner names you enter are stored only on your device. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. When you share a score card or export squad results, the app hands that file to iOS so you can choose where it goes; the app itself transmits nothing.
Purchases
Level Best Pro is a one-off in-app purchase. Payment and purchase entitlement are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. If you allowed analytics, we may receive only the product identifier and the outcome of a purchase or restore attempt.
Children
Level Best does not knowingly collect names, contact details or performance data from children. Product analytics and install attribution use the same limited data practices for every user and each has an easy opt-out.
Changes
We will update this policy before a future app update materially changes these practices.
